How does the donation for an All or Nothing campaign work?

When you choose to support a project in 'All or Nothing' mode, remember that you are placing a donation 'pledge' (or, in other words, a pre-authorisation).

This donation pledge will only be charged once the campaign will finish, and only if it reaches its economic goal. Otherwise, it is automatically deactivated and the money does not flow from the donor to the project manager wallet.

If the campaign reaches its goal, the pledge to donate will be matched the day after the fundraising ends.

For various reasons, the charge may not succeed on the first attempt. Don't worry! You will receive an email explaining the situation and how to complete the donation. In any case, the system will automatically re-attempt charging, to your previously authorised method, until the payment is either successful or replaced by another effective payment method.

Once the donation is successful, in case you used a credit or debit or prepaid card, you'll find the following entry on your bank statement: 'LW-donation' or 'LemonWay' (which is the payment provider integrated into the platform).

Some additional details on your pledge:

➔ Pledge via PayPal: When you make your donation pledge, the amount is pre-authorised on your PayPal account, i.e. a debit is made to verify that your account is active and has the funds available. These funds are temporarily blocked in your PayPal account because they were pledged and therefore held for your future donation. The donation only becomes final, i.e. debited, at the end of the campaign if it is successful (reaches or exceeds the fundraising goal).

Pledge via Lemon Way i.e. credit/debit/prepaid card: When you pre-authorise your donation on your credit or prepaid card, the amount is temporarily blocked on it. This means that the pledged amount is temporarily debited (to check that the card is active and the donation amount is available), but is usually credited back to the account/card shortly after. The final charge is only accounted for, i.e. permanently deducted from your card and then migrated to the campaign's Lemon Way account, when the fundraising ends (if it has reached its target).

➔ If the project does not reach the fundraising target by the deadline, there will be no charge.
